Painless Delivery

Our clinic has been a facility performing painless deliveries using epidural painkiller since it opened in 2012.

We offer painless deliveries, not simply deliveries with pain relief

We do not simply aim to provide deliveries with pain relief that simply lessen pain. We aim to provide painless deliveries where there is as little pain as possible.

We accommodate painless deliveries 24 hours a day

Our clinic also performs painless deliveries on holidays and nights.

  1. Mothers remain fully conscious
Because we use an epidural painkiller (a type of local anesthetic), we relieve only the pain from the stomach and below.
  2. There is virtually no impact of the anesthesia on the fetus
A full-body anesthesia also impacts the baby. This means they may be asleep when they are born or slightly lethargic.
Our clinic uses a local anesthetic as an epidural painkiller. This has very little impact on maternal blood concentration, so there is virtually no impact of anesthesia on the fetus.
  3. Stress control for the mother and child
Due to labor contractions, mothers may experience elevated blood pressure, hyperventilation, and in some cases reach a state of panic.
In painless delivery, the impact on the baby is controlled because stress is reduced by keeping blood circulation and breathing stable.
  4. Preservation of stamina
A delivery typically takes place over an extended time. Mothers can retain their base stamina because we begin anesthesia in the early stages of labor (we can also begin to administer it when you request). Doing so also speeds up the pace of postpartum recovery.
  5. A relaxing time with your family
You can spend this time in relaxation with your partner and family because there is no pain involved in the delivery process.
  6. You can deliver your baby with strong pushes
The anesthesia is not so strong that you do not feel your legs. This means you can deliver your baby with strong pushes.
  7. We constantly check the effectiveness of the anesthesia and your safety
We regularly adjust the amount of IV fluids and anesthesia to minimize the side effects of the anesthesia and prevent complications. Maternal blood pressure and heart rate, fetal heart rate, and other metrics are strictly managed by an anesthesiologist and nurses. So, you can be assured.
  8. When a cesarean section is necessary
Even if there are no complications in the course of your pregnancy, it may be necessary to perform a cesarean section to help you deliver your baby as soon as possible.
We can also swiftly switch to performing a cesarean section by adding anesthesia for a cesarean section to the catheter used to administer the epidural painkiller.
  9. It is also possible to wait for natural labor contractions
We basically perform elective delivery, but we can also wait for natural labor contractions and perform a painless delivery.
  10. Switch from a natural delivery to painless delivery
Even those who opt for a natural delivery can switch to a painless delivery partway through the process depending on the extent of labor contractions and stimulation.

The types of anesthesia and safety management at facilities that provide painless deliveries differ. This means that interest in the medical systems of facilities offering this service is increasing.

A research group of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare considering the safety measures of painless delivery services is expected to make a recommendation about the need for facilities providing painless delivery services to disclose information about their medical systems and track records of painless delivery services.

Our clinic has been a facility performing painless deliveries using epidural painkiller since it opened in 2012.

Inquiries and Consultations

  • All visits to our clinic require a reservation. Please consult with us over the phone during our reception hours.
  • If you currently reside overseas and would like to deliver your baby at our clinic after your return to Japan, you can also feel free to casually consult us.

Natural Delivery

We also accept expecting mothers who wish to have a natural delivery at our clinic.
We can also offer consultations on whether you should have an elective delivery or wait for labor contractions to occur naturally, according to your preferences.

  • Consultation may be necessary if it is past your expected delivery date or if there are concerns about the condition of the mother or child.

Even if you are hoping for a natural delivery, should the pain during childbirth become too much, we can switch you to a painless delivery if that is what you request.

Cesarean Section

  1. Surgery with no pain
Applying anesthesia makes it possible to carry out surgery without pain.
  2. Highly safe anesthesia management
Spinal subarachnoid anesthesia is used for planned cesarean sections, and epidural anesthesia is used for emergency cesarean sections switched from a painless delivery to control pain. In both cases, the methods are highly safe.
Certification holder in neonatal resuscitation will care for your baby.
  3. Pain control after surgery
We control pain after surgery using an epidural catheter. The method used with an epidural painkiller for a painless delivery is applied to lessen pain.
Moreover, we will resolve your concerns or worries about pain when our anesthesiologist makes rounds around the ward.
  4. Sedatives provided upon request
If you wish to reduce your stress, we can provide a sedative (we will use sleeping medication) during a cesarean section or after the infant is born.
  5. Early contact between mother and infant
It is possible for mother and infant to engage in early contact, even if the delivery is not vaginal, as long as there are no issues with the mother or child.
It is possible to do more than hear the baby’s cries; mothers and infants can interact directly with each other through touch and all five senses.
  6. Taking photos and videos
While doing so depends on the condition of the mother and child, we will do our utmost to accommodate your wishes.
